Rinpoch RC3230 Track Crank Set


The new RC 3230 crankset is designed to meet the high standards of track bike race. Light weight, high stiffness and high efficiency are the engineering goals. Material selection is not only about meeting the strength requirements, fatigue performance must also be considered.

FEA (Finite Element Analysis) originated in the aerospace industry. Using FEA, (Finite Element Analysis) which traces it’s origins to the aerospace industry, the Rinpoch engineering team have found that the high stress areas of the cranks arms are located in the outer surface and the side of the inside surface. Based on this conclusion, Rinpoch designed crank arms limit the weight of the crank arms in an effective way. FEA technology is also used when designing the spider and chainring making the whole crankset both light and stiff.

The spindle and spider are made of higher strength aluminum – AL7075-T6. The crank arms have more strict fatigue requirements thus AL6061-T6 is chosen. Rinpoch BSA 392 system is first time used on these cranks making it our first 30mm spindle track crankset. When compared with our previous 24mm steel spindle, the larger diameter spindle increases pedaling stiffness of the non-drive side.

The newly designed bottom bracket makes it possible to use a 30mm spindle crankset for 68mm BSA frames.

ESQ technology was first used on “鳍” series cogs and is used here again on the RC3230 crankset’s chainring. Efficient, Smooth and Quiet are essential to Rinpoch chainring design.
